Synopsis

In a remote land, an old man named Lionel honed his swordsmanship alone. His goal was to reach the "strength beyond strength" he had once witnessed. However, only non-human races possessed the "Awakening" necessary to oppose the "Demon God" that was corrupting the world. Even so, he continued to believe that he would one day... for decades. His aging body was now ravaged by illness, forcing him to retire from active duty and spend his days peacefully teaching swordsmanship to his disciples. Then, his village was attacked by agents of the Demon God! He fought desperately, but his body could no longer withstand such fierce battle. Even his own disciple was nearly killed, and he was on the verge of despair— At that moment, the old man remembered. Why he had wielded his sword all this time. It wasn't just to protect others.
