Synopsis

The story follows Li Huowang, a high school student who finds himself trapped between two realities: a bizarre cultivation world filled with eldritch horrors and his life as a mental patient in a psychiatric hospital. In the cultivation world, he is captured and turned into a living medicine, a human cauldron destined to become a pill. The doctors in the real world insist that the cultivation world is merely a hallucination. As Li Huowang struggles to discern what is real, he brings back objects from his hallucinations into reality, blurring the lines even further. This dark fantasy explores themes of psychological horror, sanity, and the search for truth amidst deception. The narrative blends elements of Chinese folklore, martial arts, and Lovecraftian cosmic horror, creating a unique and unsettling atmosphere. With trickster villains and morally ambiguous characters, the protagonist battles not only external threats but also his own fractured mind.
