Synopsis

Through a peace marriage with an enemy kingdom, Elfreda becomes queen of a foreign realm. The only one to “welcome” this barbarian-born queen is the assassin sent to kill her. In that moment of absolute crisis, Elfreda is saved by her own husband, Einar, and falls for him at first sight, slowly and helplessly drawn deeper into her feelings. Meanwhile, Einar had married her from the start purely to use her, the granddaughter of his enemy. Yet despite himself, he finds he cannot help but be pulled in by Elfreda’s pure and endearing nature… She knows he cannot love her. He knows he must not love her.
